HPCL CASE STUDY

HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited) is a Government of India Enterprise with a Navratna Status which owns & operates 2 major refineries producing a wide variety of petroleum fuels & specialties in India.

The Need:

HPCL installed a new 2 x 2 videowall at their plant near Chembur for monitoring data purpose. They wanted to display the plant refinery’s live data coming from their other server software named SCADA on the big display screen for the staff to watch & monitor. Also the system needed to be such that they could shift from displaying live data to playing signage content easily as and when required with no additional cost.

Solution:

Wallflower’s Advanced Digital Signage system provided HPCL, through one of its system integrator partner – SEC Communication, a solution wherein they could stream the Data coming from SCADA software over the network on the videowall via signage software. Once set no manual intervention was required anytime to display the real time data as the signage software displayed live data on the 2 x 2 screens via streaming on the same network. Also whenever HPCL wanted to play signage content and not the live data all that is needed to do is, to change the template layout of the videowall from the signage software and play the scheduled (drag and drop) content and once done easily shift back to streaming layout.

Result:

The primary and important requirement of displaying the Live Content on the Monitoring screens without everyday intervention of a resource was resolved by streaming from Wallflower Digital Signage Software. Also HPCL uses the same 2×2 monitoring videowall to play HPCL contents during certain occasions and no additional hardware or software is required to shift from Live Feed to Schedule Content or vise versa.
